Zen Addons for SiteOrigin Page Builder is a curated set of 36 widget extensions built on the official SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle framework. SiteOrigin Page Builder is fast and dependable, but its stock widgets can look dated. Zen Addons fills that gap with modern, sleek widgets that look polished out of the box and stay lightweight. It adds the practical, everyday building blocks most sites actually need, from tabs, accordions, and pricing tables to FAQ sections with Schema.org markup, team grids, testimonials, and video lightboxes, so you can build richer pages inside SiteOrigin without reaching for a heavier page builder.
Every widget is designed to be clean, accessible, and easy to style. Widgets render with semantic HTML, follow ARIA best practices, and stay out of your way: nothing loads on the front end unless a widget that needs it is actually placed on the page.
Built for the SiteOrigin workflow
Zen Addons plugs directly into Page Builder by SiteOrigin and the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. All Zen Addons widgets are grouped under their own “ZASO Widgets” tab in the widget picker, so they are easy to find and never get lost among the core widgets. You can enable only the widgets you use and leave the rest off.

Where to find your widgets
Zen Addons widgets are SiteOrigin widgets, so they appear in two places:
- Inside Page Builder, click Add Widget and open the ZASO Widgets tab.
- Under Plugins > SiteOrigin Widgets, where you can turn individual widgets on or off.
You can also manage every Zen Addons widget from one place under the Zen Addons menu in your WordPress admin sidebar. The widgets are not listed under Appearance > Widgets, because they are built specifically for the SiteOrigin builder.

Requirements
- WordPress 5.5 or later and PHP 7.4 or later.

- Contact Form 7 is only needed if you use the Contact Form 7 widget. bbPress is only needed if you use the bbPress widgets.

External services
This plugin connects to the DopeThemes website to show a short list of recent DopeThemes posts inside the WordPress dashboard news area, so you can see helpful tutorials and product news.
The request is made only on the main WordPress Dashboard screen. When that screen loads, the plugin fetches the latest posts from https://www.dopethemes.com/wp-json/wp/v2/posts and displays the three most recent titles and links. The response is cached for 12 hours, no personal data is sent with the request, and you can permanently dismiss the news from the dashboard.

Credits
Zen Addons bundles a self-hosted, curated subset of Material Symbols Rounded for use in widget icon pickers. Material Symbols is created by Google and distributed under the Apache License 2.0. The font is served locally from the plugin (no Google Fonts CDN), and a copy of the Apache License 2.0 is included in assets/fonts/LICENSE.

Installation
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New and search for Zen Addons for SiteOrigin Page Builder.
- Click Install Now, then Activate.
- Install and activate Page Builder by SiteOrigin and the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle (both free). Zen Addons needs the Widgets Bundle and will prompt you to install it if it is missing.
- Edit any page with Page Builder, click Add Widget, and open the ZASO Widgets tab to add Zen Addons widgets.
- Visit Plugins > SiteOrigin Widgets, or the Zen Addons menu in your admin sidebar, to turn individual widgets on or off.
Manual installation
- Download the plugin zip file.
- Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, choose the zip file, and click Install Now.
- Activate the plugin, then follow steps 3 to 5 above.

Do I need SiteOrigin to use Zen Addons?

Yes. Zen Addons extends the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle, which provides the widget framework these widgets are built on. Page Builder by SiteOrigin and the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle are both free on WordPress.org. Zen Addons declares the Widgets Bundle as a required plugin, so WordPress will prompt you to install it if it is missing.

Where do the widgets show up after I activate the plugin?

Zen Addons widgets appear in the SiteOrigin Page Builder widget picker under the ZASO Widgets tab, and in the manage screen at Plugins > SiteOrigin Widgets. You can also activate or deactivate them from the Zen Addons menu in your WordPress admin sidebar. They are not listed under Appearance > Widgets, because they are SiteOrigin widgets.

How do I enable or disable individual widgets?

Go to the Zen Addons menu in your WordPress admin sidebar, or to Plugins > SiteOrigin Widgets. Each Zen Addons widget (prefixed with “ZASO -“) can be turned on or off from either place. Activating only the widgets you use keeps things tidy.

Will Zen Addons slow down my site?

No. Zen Addons does not add scripts or styles to your front end globally. A widget’s CSS or JavaScript (for example, the lightbox script used by the video lightbox widgets) loads only on pages where that widget is actually placed.

Do the video lightbox widgets load anything from a third-party CDN?

No. The lightbox library is bundled with the plugin and served from your own site. Nothing is loaded from an external CDN.

No. The Social Share Bar builds each share link on your own server and renders plain links. It loads no social network SDKs, tracking pixels, or share-count scripts, so it stays fast and private.

Are the widgets accessible?

Yes. Widgets use semantic HTML and follow ARIA best practices, including roles and labels for interactive widgets such as tabs and accordions.

Do I need bbPress or Contact Form 7?

Only if you use those widgets. The bbPress widgets require bbPress, and the Contact Form 7 widget requires Contact Form 7. If those plugins are not active, simply do not use the related widgets.

Can I translate Zen Addons?

Yes. All user-facing strings are translation ready, and the plugin ships with English (US) and English (Australia) language files.

What happens to my data when I uninstall the plugin?

Deleting the plugin removes the small options it creates, including the dashboard news dismissal flag and its cached data. Your SiteOrigin widget content lives in your pages and is managed by SiteOrigin, not removed by Zen Addons.
