PAC Order Bridge for WooCommerce

Description

PAC Order Bridge for WooCommerce connects WooCommerce directly to Claris FileMaker Server through the FileMaker Data API.

It is designed for FileMaker developers who want WooCommerce integration without having to write PHP, learn WordPress hooks, configure custom WooCommerce webhooks or add middleware.

The free edition provides a complete, usable workflow:

  • listens for WooCommerce payment completion;
  • authenticates with the FileMaker Data API;
  • executes a FileMaker script;
  • passes the WooCommerce order ID as script.param;
  • closes the FileMaker Data API session;
  • includes guided setup progress plus connection, script and end-to-end order tests;
  • explains exactly what the FileMaker script receives through Get ( ScriptParameter );
  • provides actionable error messages and copyable support diagnostics;
  • records the first successful live delivery locally in WordPress;
  • uses HTTPS with certificate verification;
  • stores the FileMaker password encrypted using WordPress security salts;
  • supports WooCommerce HPOS.

The FileMaker script remains under your control. PAC handles the WooCommerce and FileMaker Data API plumbing; your FileMaker script receives the selected parameter and continues with your own business logic.

Documentation and setup guide

Professional edition

PAC Order Bridge Professional is intended for production integrations and adds additional WooCommerce triggers, background delivery, JSON and custom payloads, automatic retries, manual resend, custom CA certificate chains and advanced diagnostics.

A useful rule of thumb is: Free makes the connection; Professional adds the delivery controls needed for more demanding production workflows.

The free edition does not require a paid license and continues to work if Freemius usage opt-in is skipped.

5-minute setup

  1. Install and activate WooCommerce and PAC Order Bridge for WooCommerce.
  2. Open WooCommerce > Settings > Integrations > PAC Order Bridge.
  3. Enter the HTTPS FileMaker Server URL, Data API version, database, layout, script, username and password.
  4. Ensure the FileMaker account has the fmrest extended privilege and access to the configured file, layout and script.
  5. In FileMaker, create a field to store the WooCommerce order ID. Treat that ID as the stable external key for the WooCommerce order.
  6. In the FileMaker script, read the incoming value with Get ( ScriptParameter ) and store/use it in your workflow.
  7. Run Test connection.
  8. Run Script test.
  9. Enter an existing WooCommerce order ID and run End-to-end order test.
  10. Enable PAC Order Bridge. When WooCommerce reports a completed payment, the WooCommerce order ID is sent to the configured FileMaker script.

The plugin settings page shows setup progress and tells you which step still needs attention.

External services

This plugin connects to external services only for the functions described below.

FileMaker Data API

When the administrator configures a FileMaker Server and runs a test or when a WooCommerce payment completes, the plugin sends requests directly to that administrator-configured FileMaker Server. Authentication credentials, database/layout/script names and the relevant script parameter are transmitted to that server over HTTPS. PAC Age does not receive or proxy these requests.

Freemius

The plugin includes the Freemius SDK for optional usage opt-in and for purchasing/managing the Professional edition. The free connector remains usable if the administrator skips the Freemius opt-in. When an administrator explicitly opts in, Freemius may receive the administrator’s name/email, site URL, product/version state, WordPress/PHP versions, site language and optional plugin/theme environment data as described by Freemius.

Privacy

PAC Order Bridge does not send WooCommerce customer/order content to PAC Age. FileMaker communication goes directly to the FileMaker Server configured by the administrator. Freemius communication follows the opt-in and licensing behavior described in the External services section.

FAQ

Do I need to know PHP, WordPress hooks or WooCommerce webhooks?

No. PAC Order Bridge handles the WordPress/WooCommerce and FileMaker Data API side. You configure the connection and write the FileMaker script that should run.

What does my FileMaker script receive?

In the free edition, it receives the WooCommerce order ID as the FileMaker script parameter. In FileMaker, read it with Get ( ScriptParameter ).

Should I store the WooCommerce order ID in FileMaker?

Yes. Create a dedicated field for it and keep it as the external key that identifies the WooCommerce order. Do not rely on the displayed order number as the only technical identifier.

Does the free edition work without a paid license?

Yes. The free edition is fully functional for the documented payment-complete / order-ID workflow.

What happens if setup fails?

The settings page provides connection, script and end-to-end tests, actionable error messages and copyable diagnostics. Passwords, FileMaker session tokens and WooCommerce order/customer data are not included in the support diagnostics.

Does PAC Age receive my WooCommerce order data?

No. The connector communicates directly from your WordPress site to the FileMaker Server URL you configure. PAC Age does not proxy that connection.

Does it require HTTPS?

Yes. The free edition requires HTTPS and verifies the FileMaker Server certificate. Professional provides additional certificate-chain options for environments that need them.

Can I use a different WooCommerce trigger or send JSON?

Those are Professional features. The free edition deliberately focuses on the simplest useful integration: payment completed, immediate delivery, WooCommerce order ID.

Does the plugin send setup progress or diagnostics to PAC Age automatically?

No. Setup progress, runtime status and the first successful delivery marker are stored locally in WordPress. Diagnostics are only copied when an administrator explicitly clicks the copy button.
